BluSeedlings: BluSeedlings (for grades 3-5) are our creative arts program for children. The program is designed and developed to inspire children to explore and discover art through creative projects in clay, drawing and painting. The program seeks to develop and strengthen creative skills, build self-esteem and confidence, develop a sense of individuality, encourage self-expression, and stimulate imagination in children.

Animation Fascination (ages 11-15)

Experiment with Animation in this short introductory class through hands on experiences using traditional stop motion techniques including model, drawn and cut out animation.  Explore timing, balance, weight, and dialogue in basic character creation.  The final project will be done the old fashioned way with a flipbook.  Fine tune basic drawing skills and prepare your self for something cool!

 Rivka Maher received her Art Teaching Certificate at the University of North Carolina in Asheville.  She has studied at Penland School of Crafts in Penland, NC. In addition she has an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MA from Emmanuel College in Boston.  Rivka Maher has taught art in the public school system, as well as the Gibbes Museum of Art and the Asheville Art Museum.  Rivka Maher grew up in the Philippines and is widely traveled.

The BluSeedlings, grades 3-5 will meet on Tuesdays and the BluSeedlings "Sprouts", will meet on Thursdays Class times are 3:30 pm- 4:45 pm. Class size is limited to 7 students to ensure individualized attention and mentoring. The fee for each six-week session is $125.00, scholarships are available.
