My paintings start as drawings in my sketchbooks. The persistent themes in my work include animal behavior as metaphor, abstract symbolism, and landscapes. I spend a lot of my time outside in the woods and mountains. This is where my ideas and images come from.
I grew up in Albany, NY and now reside in Northern VT. I have a BFA from Boston University and an MAT from Rhode Island School of Design. Drawing and painting have been my lifelong preoccupation which occasionally coincides with exhibition and teaching.
